Money decisions deserve reliable information. This is how we research, write and update every guide on Quarterlo.
1. Primary sources first. We base every rule, rate, limit and deadline on official sources: IRS.gov and IRS publications, SSA.gov, Healthcare.gov and other government agencies. We link to those sources in each article and state the tax year that applies.
2. Real examples. Wherever possible, we include worked examples with real numbers so you can see how a rule applies to an actual freelancer’s situation.
3. Plain English. We explain concepts in simple language, define jargon, and put the short answer at the top of every article.
4. Independence. Advertisers and affiliate partners have no influence over what we cover or what we recommend. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
5. Use of AI tools. We may use AI tools to help with research and drafting. Every article is reviewed and edited by a person, and every figure is checked against its official source before publishing.
6. Updates. We review our guides at least once a year, especially after the IRS publishes new figures each fall, and whenever a rule changes. Each article shows its “Last updated” date.
7. Corrections. If we get something wrong, we fix it promptly and update the date. To report an error, contact us with the article link and, if possible, the official source.
